Clients are increasingly diligent from a design perspective; they have a clear idea of what they want. It makes our work together more collaborative, allowing us to understand their brief better and take a leading role in helping them reach their goals.

The team is given a wide variety of tasks, so we’re exposed to different stages of the process and can acquire different skill sets. Knowledge is shared.
We increasingly do very bespoke jobs or cater to highly specific needs. We recently reconfigured a flat for our clients’ severely disabled daughter. They required specialist equipment but we didn’t want to create a hospital-like space or one cut off from the rest of the family home; we delivered a design that was aesthetically pleasing while still supporting the family’s health and wellbeing.

A common request is for a self-contained basement or dormer area for children adaptable as a space for teenagers where they can feel free and independent. London is expensive and children may live with their parents into their 20s, making their need for a private area all the greater.
